Passpack helps you choose strong passwords by showing you a quality rating while you type. This is used a little bit everywhere - when choosing your Passpack Password or Packing Key, as well as in the built inpassword generator and in the entry window.
The quality rating is a little sliding scale that measures the quality of your password as you type. The quality rating gives you an idea of how good (or bad) the password you're typing is. The tiny number indicates the quality rating.* Once you reach the suggested quality rating, that little number will turn green.
* For those of you who are interested, this loosely corresponds to the number of bits. Passpack's rating system is largely based on Keepass's open source rating algortihm.
The minimum length for your Password must be of at least 6 characters, with a recommended quality rating of 64. You choose your Password when registering for a Passpack account, and you may change it at any time by going to the Settings > Change Password from inside our account.
Packing Key Requirements
The minimum length for your Packing Key must be of at least 8 characters, with a recommended quality rating of 80. You choose your Packing Key when registering for a Passpack account, and you may change it at any time by going to the Settings > Change Packing Key from inside our account.
