New version is completely unusable

I haven't tested it on anything but my laptop and am surprised that such a buggy version was pushed out at all.

But I appreciate that it is now easier to add labels to a new password and the password edit screen is generally more user friendly on a laptop screen.

This new version is not user-friendly it has several bugs that needs to be worked out. Is there any way to get the old version back until you all have figured out the bugs. Please give the old version back ASAP.

I agree. They removed main functions, like using the bulk select to label, share, etc.

Bulk selection in general seems to be broken? You can only select one at a time (to do what? the functions are no longer there), so you can either select all or none.

Same here.  No warning that the whole UI was changing.  I thought I'd been hacked and it sketched me out.  I have the same problems others are having.

The best thing about Passpack was being able to call up passwords on my mobile to get passwords for my work PC and other user accounts. The new UI is not responsive and much of the page content does not appear in a mobile browser window and there are no scroll bars on the UI to navigate to off-screen elements (therefore I can't see passwords and can't click buttons.)

Agreeing to the comments on this thread. Search is broken - when clicking on a found entry in search it does not go to the entry.

Fails to load at all on mobile browsers (not a connection issue as other sites loaded)

I am asking for an immediate rollback until these are fixed. I am a paying user not a beta tester

I can barely even access my passwords. Even on a laptop, I am forced to refresh the page just to log in, because the login button doesn't respond.

Safe to assume this is just a waste of our time?  All we're doing is noting how horrible and broken the "new" version is, but there's no real way to contact the company....   Seems like we're just bitching into the wind.

Time to migrate to 1Password or something that will actually work.  Kinda disappointing they've left this product to die on the vine.

It is unusable on Edge and Firefox. If it was so buggy, why was it pushed out? We want our green back, the grey one sucks.

The new version is terrible. This is a backward development in terms of UI, Search filtering, Bulk labeling, and many things else. You guys need to hire a lot better UX and UI designers. Please take serious actions on real improvements. Otherwise I will have to leave your service.

    It's more than terrible...

The mobile version doesn't work (it just stays on the "loading") both on Chrome and native browser, and from two days ago, I cannot save new passwords.

There are also a bunch of other bugs, but this two are a deal breaker.

Does 1Password work similar to Passpack? (passwords packed with a key, stored in the cloud and can be shared within teams)

    [Passpack] Account Deleted [ 06-08-2019 12:45 ]

I deleted my passpack account purely based on the jarring, terrible user interface overhaul and switch to 1password and it's great.  I recommend it.  It's a bit more expensive but has better features. I've heard good reviews and decided to try it.

Same here, my account is now deleted.
95% of my use was on mobile. This new version forced me to look for alternatives and I found a very nice alternative.

So after 6 years of satisfying use, I have now said goodbye to Passpack.

After some years of good use, goodbye.

    Mobile? Terrible.
    Laptop? Difficult.

    Found a good alternative.

In addition I have been told by support  that there is not a problem. I can’t work out which is worse, pushing out a failed version or refusal to acknowledge there is a massive problem

    Passpack Dev (Verified)

First of all I must apologize for the issues people have been having with Passpack.  We are a small team in Italy and are battling a lot of pressure from the 'big boys'.

Our initial change was poorly tested and was pushed out too quickly.  Unfortunately we did not learn from that and the change that was intended to fix those issues as also very badly tested and rushed out.

Some users have expressed a want to stay with Passpack due to its simple and easy-to-use original design and we are trying to get back to that original mandate.  We can only ask users to trust us through this difficult time and I promise we will get things sorted.  We have a new test-team in place who have absolute power of veto for release's as well as new Agile processes and automated regression testing.

    Passpack will bounce back.

    Re Benny's comment,

I personally needed acknowledgement that what had been shipped was not working for me or the other users who are here. For everyone looking at their screens loading forever, it was hard to be told that the new version was OK.

As a business owner I sympathise with your position, but if you are running a premium service it has to work. That includes migration. We rely on your product and when it is not there when we need it for critical info, it breaks trust.

    Benny, thank you for commenting.

It's encouraging to see an acknowledgement of the problem and that new processes have been put in place.

Would it not be prudent to revert to the older version that worked for most people, while the newer version is fixed?

I would also like some reassurance that Passpack will listen to and act on feedback from users. Even before this happened, I have had issues with teams and sharing within teams, but never got a satisfactory response.

Previously I had recommended Passpack to another company to use, but have since told them to hold off while we research alternatives. It would be good to see some progress.

EDIT: I would also add, you can't blame this solely on your testing team. Developers need to care, business people on your team need to care, as well as testers - you should all have an investment in your product. How do other people on your team not observe and have concerns about such a dramatic change to your product?

Thanks for the response Benny. I have been using Passpack for a decade I think and what we were looking for is a response from you all & an acknowledgement that you are listening and working on it. We will stick around, but you cannot blame the testers completely. I am a developer too and unit testing was also not done properly by the developers it seems.

I like the idea of moving back to the old simpler interface cause I also preferred that.

Looking forward to having Passpack fully functional on all browsers in Desktop and Mobile. Thanks!

We store a lot of passwords in the account. And the one feature that I really need back is the search. it is just not working. Nothing appears in the dropdown when I enter a search term.

I can leave with most of the other problems for now. But this is just driving me crazy.

Also, it would be amazing, if you would add back the option to tick more than one password and assign all of them to a label. Pretty sure that was possible in the previous version. It is just really tedious to have to go into each one separately to do this.

This is particularly annoying because labels are not shared with the passwords. And we use sharing within a team a lot. But everytime we add a new password and share it, each one of us has to then also label the new password on their account as well. One by one ...

Martina, I have the same issue.

We paid for an account because we wanted to share everything amongst our team, but it's actually very difficult to share in an organized fashion. It also means only one of us (who created the team folder) can create and add passwords to the team.

I also agree about the multi-select - it used to be when you selected items (single or many) you could then attach labels, add to team folders/share, etc, but now it's pretty much useless. You can't do anything in bulk. And sharing each password individually is a very unclear process now as well. No thought put into the user experience whatsoever.

Think I'll stick with v7 until I see this whole thing stabilize...

I liked PassPack when I switched to it nearly a decade ago and it still works just fine for me. I'm more about utility/functionality and (quite frankly) I couldn't give less of a crap about how it looks.

I recommend going back to basics prior to pushing us to the next version. A new UI holds very little value if it reduces functionality. I understand you want to share code between the (mobile) app version and web, but that can be done without a loss of functionality. I would argue that it MUST be done, particularly for your paying customers (like me).

Cheers and here's to hoping for the best...even if it takes MUCH longer! I can live with the current v7...

We missed features when this version was pushed out. Our company still on v7 as there is no way we will move to v8 without these features:

    * A way to import Passpack v7 tags as v8 Labels. (This was added on early v8)

    * A way to delete Labels in bulk, one by one is a joke.

    * Where is the browser plug-in?  Without it Passpack is useless, no autofill and we have to copy and paste with this version.

I started beta testing when v8 beta was introduced, instead of advance, it looks like everything is going backward.

We know that you are a small team in Italy, but communication is crucial.  At least keep your customers updated frequently either through social media, your web site or a newsletter.  Please keep posting updates so we know, or we will think you guys are going out of business.
